When creating a route the Market Research tab shows a bar indicating the load factor. Sometimes it shows a 100% load factor, but part of the bar is blue. By lowering price I can make more of the bar green, and increase profit.

 

My question is what is the blue on the Load factor bar indicating?

I think from a hub the blue is passengers payed for because of the hub. Maybe the airport pays you? IDK, but it seems plausible.

I believe its passengers from another one of your flights that paid already. And are using your available unsold seats.  If you want to get rid of them lower the fares until the full fare passengers  fill up the excess seats and leave no room for them.    Oh somebody said they are  half fares. But the rest is true.
