Canadia Airlines Update:

 

- Sept. 18/1976 - DC7 Service ends. Replaced by the B727-100. The DC7 known as Canadia 1 was Canadia's first aircraft when the airline started in 1972. After 4 years of service, Canadia 1 was sold off. It will be remembered as Canadia 1 forever. Its replacement is a Boeing 727-100 used aircraft. The 727 features a new cabin with enRoute, Canadia's IFE.

Canadia Airlines Update:

 

- March 19/1978 - Canadia Airlines is now flying overseas! 7 new flights have been added to our Calgary-Tokyo-Narita using our Boeing 707-320B. We look forward to seeing you in the air!

- March 19/1978 - Our Beechcraft B200 King Air (Canadia 8) has been sold off to a private investor. The flights that were operated have been replaced by our newer Bombardier DHC-7.

Canadia Airlines Update:

 

November 12/1978: Canadia Airlines order's its first DC-10-40. The plane will be used on transpacific flights from YYC. This is the first widebody aircraft in the fleet. The plane will be leased for 10 years, and could be bought in the near future. This is also the first plane to have a business class.

- December 14/1981 - Canadia Airlines is proud to be the launch customer for the Boeing 757-200. The new aircraft will be used to retire out CL-44 Yukon. The aircraft is expected to arrive on October 4/1983

- November 10/1980 - Canadia Airlines has ordered 2 more Boeing 767-200 to replace the existing DC-8 fleet. The first of the 2 aircraft will arrive on February 18/1982.

Canadia Airlines Update:

 

- November 16/1981 - Canadia Airlines is proud to be the launch customer for the Airbus A300-600. The new aircraft will be used on new international routes. We are excited for our first Airbus aircraft entering our fleet! The first plane is expected to arrive on March 5/1984

- November 12/1983 - Canadia Airlines is proud to be the launch customer for the Boeing 767-300ER. The new aircraft will be used to replace our Boeing 707 in service to Tokyo-Narita. We are excited to continue launching the 767 family! The first plane is expected to arrive on December 3/1986

- November 12/1983 - Canadia Airlines says farewell to our CL-44 Yukon. The CL-44 Yukon served the route to Halifax before it's retirement. This marks the end of the turboprop age in our fleet (though the DHC-7 remains in service). The CL-44 was replaced by the Boeing 757-200 with our enRoute IFE system.

- November 16/1981 - Canadia Airlines has order 2 MD-83 aircraft to replace the oldest B727-100s. The first aircraft will arrive on December 12/1983.

- November 12/1983 - With the success of enRoute, our in-flight entertainment system, Canadia Airlines is in the works of a new version of our enRoute system dubbed, enRoute V.2 Regional & enRoute V.2 International! The new IFE systems will feature brand new equipment never seen before in the world. Using new technology, the regional system will feature Audio On Demand, a first for our fleet. The international system will feature Audio & Video On Demand, a revolutionary innovation to air travel. The regional system is expected to release in 1985 while our international system will release sometime in 1988.

Canadia Airlines Update:

 

- November 12/1983 - Canadia Airlines is proud to be the launch customer for the Boeing 767-300ER. The new aircraft will be used to replace our Boeing 707 in service to Tokyo-Narita. We are excited to continue launching the 767 family! The first plane is expected to arrive on December 3/1986.

- May 18/1984 - Canadia Airlines retired its last fleet of Boeing 727-100 aircraft from service. The planes served many years with us and we are sad to see them go. The aircraft were replaced by our MD-83 aircraft.

- May 18/1984 - Canadia Airlines has placed an order for an additional 3 Boeing 737-300s. The aircraft has proved well in our fleet.

- November 12/1983 - With the success of enRoute, our in-flight entertainment system, Canadia Airlines is in the works of a new version of our enRoute system dubbed, enRoute V.2 Regional & enRoute V.2 International! The new IFE systems will feature brand new equipment never seen before in the world. Using new technology, the regional system will feature Audio On Demand, a first for our fleet. - August 11/1985 - Canadia Airlines has placed an order for an additional 4 Boeing 737-300s. The aircraft has proved well in our fleet. They will replace the old 737-200s in service. We have also ordered a B767-200ER to replace the B747-200C in service.

- November 12/1983 - With the success of enRoute, our in-flight entertainment system, Canadia Airlines is in the works of a new version of our enRoute system dubbed, enRoute V.2 Regional & enRoute V.2 International! Canadia Airlines Update:

 

- June 12/1987 - Canadia Airlines has placed an order for one MD-11. The DC-10-40 has proved well in our fleet and the MD-11 will serve many years with us. This is also the 50th Aircraft that we have ordered for our modern fleet! Canadia Airlines has also ordered 5 Airbus A320-200 aircraft to replace the last DC-9 and 2 Boeing 737-100 aircraft. These aircraft are equipped with our brand new enRoute V.2 Regional IFE system.

- March 20/1988 - Canadia Airlines has ordered a Boeing 747SP with our new enRoute International Layout. The aircraft will be used for expanded service internationally.

- August 11/1985 - Canadia Airlines is proud to launch our new enRoute V.2 Regional System to our fleet! The MD-81, MD-83, 737-200, and 737-300 fleet have been replaced with the new system. The international system is expected to come in the next couple of years.

- March 20/1988 - Canadia Airlines is proud to launch our new enRoute V.2 International System to our fleet! The A300-600, B767-200, and DC-10-40 fleet have been replaced with our new system. The MD-11 is expected to be fitted with this new system once it arrives.
