It seems the game-specific discussion forums don't get much use.

 

Posts in there generally fit into one of these categories:

• offering airlines up for shared control
• asking non-world-specific questions more suited for the General AE Discussion forum

So I think we should:

• remove the world-specific forums
• create a "Airline Takeover / Shared Control Requests" subforum under General AE Discussion
• change the in-game "Forums" link to point to the root forum index

Some players have been posting those sharing requests in the General AE Discussion forum anyway, since it gets more attention than posting in the world-specific forums.

 

This change allows us to:

• clean airline sharing requests out of the General AE Discussion forum
• give those requests more attention than the world-specific forums did
• get players' questions answered faster instead of having those posted in deeply nested, rarely visited forums
• increase activity in the main forums
• promote Suggestions, Logo/Livery Requests, and other subforums to the root level

I think this could work as a feasible idea, however I think the shared control forum could do with a thing where you have to put a note in on which world the airline is in, as I think that was probably the best thing that came out of the specific forums.

I see no reason not to support this, not that I'd use it either way.

I am in favor of this idea. The game-specific forums have too many subforums making topics and posts hard to find.

I support that proposal. To be completely frank, I've never really liked the specific forums. The sort of posts that go in their usually fit into the new players forum, general discussion, and, yes, shared control requests, etc.

I like this idea and support it. This will definitely clean up some forums and make it easier for new players to post airline sharing requests in the right forum to avoid confusion and therefore stop of posting in the incorrect forums.
