Hi guys,

I just wanted to post about Crew numbers.

In the game, the ratio of crew is 1/50 passengers it seems

Just wanted to ask whether this ratio could be kept as a minimum and whether it can be increased by the user controlling the airline?

For example, a Boeing 777-300ER with 350 seats:
- IN GAME: This would have 7 cabin crew on the plane.

- IN REAL LIFE: Usually airline use about 1 cabin crew for every exit and that is approximately 10 cabin crew.

Just thought this was something I should throw out there as a suggestion or future request as it would bring more realism to AE.

Regards

In contrast, airlines such at Thomas Cook run with 5 cabin crew on the 757, which is covering 8 doors, usually passengers are expected to open some of the doors however the maximum cabin compliment on a 757 is 8 cabin crew - I believe deciding your levels of staffing will be a feature of AE4

I know that at least in the US, FAA regs require 1 FA per 50 seats, which I'm assuming the crew reqs are based on.

Yeah, they are.

I know Australia is 1 FA per 36 seats.. So there is a bit of a difference still.

That's why I think it would be a good idea to have a minimum and a maximum and for the user to implement how many they want maybe?

Yeah, it would be nice, maybe with more crew giving you a better IFS rating/route rating.

well then we would need to do different levels of staffing for different flights. if we are going for realism so as the requirements mentioned above. 1 FA/50 Seats in the states and 1FA/36 Seats in Australia soooo......

Australia to Australia flight= 1FA/36 seats

America to America 1FA/50 seats

America to Australia 1FA/36 Seats

follow the stricter guideline in an international setting.

and my we expand what Amtran said how this could be the minimum but more attention with more FAs gives you better reputation?

But has anyone started up an airline with 1 small plane? These are numbers for an airline I have with 1 B1900.
15 Pilots
10 Mechanics
6 Agents and CSRs
10 Operations Personnel
This is why Air Chad is losing money D: .

Well, while you may only need 2 pilots per flight, remember that you can't have them work around the clock and you need some reserves in case one of them gets sick. You simply need some economics of scale to become profitable; I have never seen an airline with only 1 plane be profitable.

An airline from Chad wasn't going to be great anyway. I'll point out that a B1900 needs 1 pilot iirc, and it was flying under 15 hours a day. http://ae31.airline-...3rd&player=1003
