Well, I said day because I live in the US and don't like red-eye flights on 5 hour routes. But if it was 7 or longer, it would be night.

Actually i like flight where you get to see sunset and sunrise, the sky is beautiful at that time around

I want it to be nice and bright outside so I can plane spot from the terminal once I have landed (This depends if it's a stop over or not).

Night because taking off and seeing the lights everywhere is much better than seeing flat grass fields (FS9)

Eh, day. I can actually see stuff. Seeing the Las Vegas Strip at night during takeoff seems awesome, but I don't remember this happening. This video will show you why night flights suck.

I like both day and night, but my favourite has to be night. Matter of fact, when I went down south, it was red eye going and night coming back. Think I've also experienced the opposite of red eye ie. taking off during the day and landing during the night.
