I was wondering if they will add an winglet option for the MD-80's?

I dont think the plane ever flew with the winglets. It arrived at Farnbourough without them

I read somewhere (Dont quote me on this, because I don't exactly remember) that the MD-80s wing is sort of raked/tapered already and so as Fox mentioned, not much benefit was gained from this type of winglet. However, there was something about the company that produces the 757 and 767 winglets looking into producing a winglet for the MD-80 so you never know.
