642 m DOP in R delta. Halfway through the game but average age of aircraft is below 7 years. You reach a point. Where increase profit comes from using more fuel efficient aircraft and not from over expansion. Cannot see the point in never replacing aircraft although notice many mega airlines never replace any aircraft.

Just a statistic I researched in the last O2 world: Out of the top 10 airlines, 9 of them had average ages of over 15. Williams & Co. had an average age of 4.7 years. In fact, most big airlines keep 60s turboprops, 747s and A380s in the same fleet. I have to get rid of mine by twhen they're 15, only exceptions are start up airlines.

but it takes quite a lot of time to replace a aircraft, because undoubtedly 60's turboprops are much slower than A320-200, thus causing the Airbus to have 10-20 extra hours bringing down the average daily usage! but it would be easier to replace old 747 (same models) with new 747's cause the speed etc is all the same thus making it easier

Would that not be a bonus? There is no excuse for having old planes when there is a suitable alternative. I even replace with unsuitable aircraft. This was my R0 transition of some aircraft:

1955-1969 Viscount (49Y)------ 1969-1990 An-24 (46Y)/ 1-11 (68Y)/ Trident (78Y)----- 1990-2008ATP (49Y)/ B733 (105Y)-2008-now

EMB 170/5 (60-68Y)/ B737 (116Y)

Anyway, it's clear why you're saying this. http://ae31.airline-...e3r6&player=193

i agree that it would be a bonus but it would be a laborious task trying to find routes that are close enough for 10 hours, and even with multiple aircraft its difficult, then you have to make sure that all the planes are at the same airport so that you do not miss a plane when trying to actually give route to a 10 hr plane

Oh sorry, I made a mistake. I was thinking about some one else.
