Just as the title suggests, can I go bankrupt in sandbox mode? I ask because I need to expand, but I fear I will go bankrupt.

Any help appreciated

Dan

It is possible to go bankrupt in the sandbox world, but considering the starting cash you get, to go bankrupt you would need to be doing something seriously wrong. :P

Also, expansion in AE is usually very profitable (especially in low-competition environments like the sandbox), so even if your cash goes negative for a short while because you leased a lot of aircraft, you should be able to grow out of it pretty quickly.

well, i suggest cutting down on staff reserves as well as their wages. also keep in mind next time, don't make a hub straight away as it doubles your gate and staffing costs (or something like that). basically, they increase your costs :P

I am now at -90million, I have set staff wages to a minimum, flying to less expensive airports, have 100% load factor on all but 1 flight and I need new aircraft as I only have 2 A320. Help!

Maybe I shouldn't have bought those A320's outright :ermm2: My other airline with 3 leased Q400's appears to be doing much better.

Check that you only pay your staff about $7. Also downsize your staff to the min, and change all the "reserve" buttons 0%.

Then check under your "Aircraft" menu, how much hours are still available for each aircraft! :)

Hi guys, my airline is now -95million. However I started a new one to check out this formula I found and so far it works! :D I leased 5 used Airbus A300-B4's for just $6000 each, and started routes that earn almost double the gate cost and lease cost together. The formula goes like this:
Lease used aircraft whenl up to 15-20 million
Lease new aircraft when up to 30-35 million
Buy used aircraft when up to 40-45 million
Buy new aircraft from 45 million +

I do not recommend buying any aircraft outright until you have more cash than you can lease aircraft with. It's almost always more profitable to lease more aircraft with that cash to make more cash than to buy aircraft outright even for the long-term savings.

Yeah, like I said I leased 5 (now up to 8) Airbus A300 for just $6000 and I am now earning a decent profit on all routes. I recently pulled a route into Ukraine that wasn't earning any money and my expenditure went down meaning I have more money. That airline (British Holidays and British Holidays International) are now at +2million and +6million respectively. With my in debt airline, I feel proud that I am not doing as badly as some. Ine airline was 9 billion dollars down the hole! :S
