Hi.

I have run into a problem with the game. I'm based in ARN Sweden and I'm trying to start flights from CPH Denmark to other countries outside of EU. I know about the wiki : http://wiki.airline-...l_restrictions. I dont think those restrictions effects scandinavia sence SAS flies intercontinental from ARN (Sweden), CPH (Denmark) and OSL (Norway), and Norwegian Air Shuttle is  about to start as well from all three airports.

SAS at its founding was basically a pool between the Swedish, Norwegian and Danish governments to provide air service in those three countries, and thus from the start held special traffic rights from those nations. AE doesn't simulate special traffic rights (ie: fifth freedom)

Lets take easyJet as an example then, they fly to Israel (TLV) from UK, Italy and Switzerland, so OK we can rule Switzerland out of the mix as this is operated under easyJet Switzerland SA based in Basel which will operate the Basel and Geneva departures, but the rest of the airline has its headquarter at LTN so where do the Rome FCO departures to TLV come in the political restrictions.

Other easyJet anomalies based on the principal in the wiki pages are:-

MXP - SSH (Italy - Egypt)

CDG - FEZ (France - Morocco)

CGD, LYS & MXP - CMN (France & Italy - Morocco)

CGD, LYS, SXF & MXP - RAK (France, Germany & Italy - Morocco)

CGD, LYS & SXF - AGA (France & Germany - Morocco)

Based on political restrictions in game none of these flights are permitted, yet they fly in the real world.

Basically, AE won't add 'special' unrestricted routes, as has been said before. For example, SAS get government backing to fly from Scandinavia, this is not implemented to AE.

Another 'special' routing is Fifth Freedom routes.

Examples of Fifth Freedoms include:

Singapore Airlines SIN-MUC-MAN-MUC-SIN

Kuwait Airlines KUW-LHR-JFK-LHR-KUW

Biman Bangladeshi serve LHR-MAN also. I have just named a few examples of Fifth freedoms, something again not in AE. But also just to clear it up, fifth freedoms are not stop overs (which are coming to AE). Stop overs are just fuel stops on the route, for example Qantas on SYD-DXB-LHR or Singapore on SIN-FRA-JFK. Fifth freedoms are individual flights in themselves, usually coming off the back of another flight.

But the final and way Easyjet would do it is fly from the deregulated country (EG, Italy) to a different country (EG Isreal) after applying for the route and talking it out with all the respectable governments and authorities etc.

TL:DR = Easyjet talk it out with people to get special routes.

Singapore Airlines flies SIN-MUC-MAN-MUC-SIN. They don't fly into Tegel.

@Emmelie2:
Those routes you mentioned are not always, yet sometimes standalone flights. E. g. SIN-MUC-MAN can only sell tickets for SIN-MUC and SIN-MAN, while SIN-FRA-JFK can sell tickets on all route segments (iirc).

SQ has full 5th freedoms on the MUC-MAN route. They can sell standalone MUC-MAN tickets. In fact, there have been multiple TRs on a.net by users who booked only MUC-MAN that have covered this route.
