Believe it or not, Norway has some of the busiest routes in Europe!

 

OSL-TRD passed 1 200 000 pax last year (over 3000 pax per day), but in AE the demand is only 212! Can anyone explain this? The same goes for OSL-BGO OSL-TOS OSL-BOO BGO-TRD

Because it is impossible to continually monitor demand on 11,495,490 city-pairs--even annually.

The demand has been this high since the late 90s! Like Kitty, I thought that it should have been fixed in one of the recent updates. It's not about monitoring, it's about getting it right from the start

The game uses a simple formula to determine city-pair demand. It's based on the annual pax information for each airport--not individual city-pairs. If you look at a similar city-pair in the US (for example, FLL-TUS), you will see the demand is very much the same. In reality, FLL-TUS has much less daily demand than what is listed.

It's the nature of the game. Again, if people want to make exceptions, it's only fair to first analyze the demand between all 11,495,490 city-pairs before incorporating exceptions in the game.

As the person who does most of the updating of airports for AE, I can understand that certain routes are underserved, others are overserved. It is is frankly impossible to work out the demand for every single route in the game.

teamseacow, do you think the actual total passenger numbers are correct? Or do you have better figures?

The numbers are correct,m they were updated last year with the 2011 numbers.

Demand is calculated based on passengers going through airports, not individual routes.

I get that, but still though, it is a bit weird that such huge routes are to be overlooked!

I think that the future of AE demand needs to incorporate manual modifiers for regional demand thingies. Which I've suggested in the past.

Simply using airport passenger numbers just doesn't work properly.
