I thought political restrictions meant I cannot fly routes between 2 airports, neither of which is in my home country.
I was doing research (based in U.S.) out of New York, LaGuardia to Frankfurt, Germany. This is for when I eventually add longer distance aircraft, such as the Boeing 707.
Anyway, the market research map page says "you cannot fly this route, due to political restrictions."
So, would someone please expalin exactly what the game means by "political restrictions?"
Thanks.
Would someone please explain what political restrictions mean?

There are some political restrictions at some airports in the US (LaGuardia and Reagan National are the ones I know of) That have range limitations. Planes departing these airports can only fly a certain distance away from the airport.

Thanks to all three who posted replies. So "political restrictions" has less to do with the real-world meaning of the term (such as the Cold War in 1956), and has more to do with either trying to set up routes between 2 airports, neither of which is based in one's home country, or, if the distance I'm attempting to set the route for exceeds one or both potential airports.
And thanks to will101, for the link. I'll be sure to check that out; appreciate all the useful info.

They are restrictions imposed by politicians. See also love fields.

Somewhat correct. Cold War restrictions are not in place, but most other restrictions are.
For example, if the US lifted its embargo on Cuba tomorrow (in real life), it would probably be programmed that such political restrictions would be lifted after the year 2012 (or 2013) for future rounds.

Yeah, but quite a few of these would be capable of handling intl. ops i would imagine.
