I think we need an airline limit. Maybe 500, then registartion closes? I known anouther airline site like Ae, and it is a lot better. 1,200 is wayyyy to much. Not enough money to go around. I mean in the RW there aren't 1,200 airlines out there. Plus most from 600 up are unused. I think people would like it a lot more...:P

Obviously someone forgot that in the last game, AE only reached 1500 airlines (active) and it was going to down as bigger airlines swapped on routes and thus, smaller airlines were getting hit out of the park... so i would like to have a limit on airlines, but their is a challenge with trying to take out the competition :P :P :P :P

i think if there was a reasonable limit (key word: reasonable), then it could be effective. Either that or somehow stop the airlines which are unused from ruining the game.

btw, whats this "other site" that u know of?

Glad you guys agree! I hate the small airlines killing my routes. It makes me mad when they charge $1. I know it might be smart virtually, but in RW you cant make a ticket price $1. I think to eliminate this we could also make a lets say minimum $100?:P

But you can make real life ticket prices as $0...Stagecoach did it in the past and they are still doing this with "Megabus" which they boast as the "World's 1st long distance LCC bus company".

Stagecoach is a real-life bus company which took absolute advantage of the de-regulation of bus routes in the UK in the 1980s.

They have a very colourful history, flooding small towns with free busses running at triple frequency of that of the competition.

Other fantastic tactics include duplicate routes except that Stagecoach's busses always departed 1 minute before the competitor. To prevent the competitor's bus getting ahead of the Stagecoach vehicle, unmarked double-deckers were brought in to prevent this so that the Stagecoach vehicle got all the passengers.

Stagecoach now operates all over the UK, and in a few other countries such as New Zealand.

The colourful tactic continues with them creating "Megabus" as I had mentioned earlier.

An excellent real-life example that free services can be the key to success.

this should be locked, this was discussed a lot of times before when 99.9% of the people said it should.. but obviously what we think does not matter and it will just keep growing....

I do agree with Nathaniel on this one. There's not going to be a limit because this is Miller's game and what he says goes. It's just a matter of planning your routes and watching your airline's back. Be happy you're making money unlike the major airlines in the U.S. today. But, again, what I just said has been said in the past a million times so it's not worth bringing it up again. lol

i think a limit of about 1000 should be set in place....for now at least and its obvious as well people are using some well dodgy tactics to get cheap aircraft
