As you might know, I got a new PC recently, and however, FSX did not transfer to the new computer. One would think, simply re-install, but we had problems installing it on the old PC, so, in other words, the installation code is run out.
So I was thinking, maybe I should use the chance to get X-Plane. However, I don't really know whether I should just grab a new FSX off the internet for $10, or spend more and get X-Plane.
No matter what version I get of it, it's more expensive than FS.
X-Plane 8 - found for around same price as FS
X-Plane 9 - slightly more expensive, around $20
X-Plane 10 - much more expensive, around $65
So, keep FSX, or get X-Plane, and if X-Plane which one?
Da-da-da Should I get X-Plane 9, 8 or 10 or keep FSX

Try calling MS, they've helped me out with FSX install problems without charging.
It's really me, now. #backtoAE

Did you try phone activation? That usually works when the automatic online method fails.
If you're invested in addons for FSX it probably doesn't make sense to switch, but otherwise that doesn't matter and you should probably try the X-Plane demo to see which one you like better.

I suggest X-Plane 10, It's expensive but the graphics increase and new features over X-Plane 9 make it completely worth it.
X-Plane 8 is horribly outdated, I wouldn't get it and expect it to be as good as FSX
Also, any new addons that are released for X-Plane will not be compatible with older versions, so keep that in mind as well.
X-Plane 9 addons are compatible with V10 though

Stress the budget, dear. I'm not an everettiare
If you can't afford X-Plane 10, why is it in your list of options for flight sims?

You can get an Xplane 10 Demo for free, so you can try it out.
Of course the Demo gives you what it really is like but it does have limitations.
I recomend you download the X-Plane 10 demo and try it out firstly Then make the choice.
