Why do some Airlines have deliveries after the end of the game? Do they have so much money to burn and are getting bored to take delivery of aircraft 2 years after the end of the game, which ist 26 years to go? I've seen another delivery row just 10 days before the end, but that still doen't make sense.

Aircraft that work well in my fleet, and have an end production date before the round ends, will be ordered in quantities so that they will continued to be delivered until the end of the round. It saves a lot of time when swapping out old aircraft.

Those aircraft (i .e. B748, A318) can be ordered indefinitly. Though I understand the swapping idea, I still don't get it why someone would extend it to way after the end of the round.

I'm talking about aircraft like the Il-18D, 757, or MD-11.

I don't, either. Complete waste of money.

By accident? :P

In Rdelta, i spammed MD-80 orders to the point where they were going to like 2050 out of sheer paranoia all my airlines would run out. XD

XD How much did that cost?

Apart from Foxy's case, it seems to me that people purchase thousands of aircraft into well after the round is done, simply because they can.
That said, there are a few benefits to purchasing all these aircraft. You wouldn't have to worry about replacing your fleet if the aircraft type had left production. You would also take in a lot of aircraft to put on new routes.
But buying thousands of a certain type of aircraft would require commitment to your aircraft of choice. If a better aircraft than what you purchased thousands of came out, it would cost a lot of money to cancel your orders for a better aircraft.

its also worth mentioning that worlds often get extended, which makes sense if you have the resources to order a little bit past world end date, although people that order 727's past 2005 or ordering planes several years past end date, they order just cause they can.

Most of them don't realize that their order surpasses the world's time limit. I've done it once in the past where I order dozens of A350 after the world ends.

Oh yea I've had B787-10 orders extending to 2050-60 and that's just because I ordered like 300 at once and didn't care when deliveries ended.

i did it for abit with the dc7  and starliners yes the cost builds up but aslong as you run them in good locations the cost instantly gets balanced back out with the profits they make which in return funds more of them to keep operating saving you the annoying task of changing aircraft as im lazy like that :P
