I know soon I will no longer have enough time to manage WestAir to it's potential.
Just getting too busy in the real world.

Right now it's #3 but has spent a lot of time at #1 and could get there again.
Many of it's planes are owned, not leased......starting with the A321-100's and now all of the B737-800's & B757-300's are being ordered instead of leased
And WestAir has a large Terminal in Denver.
My fleet consists of A330-300, A340-200, A300-600R, A321-100, 747-400, 777-300, 767-300ER, 757-300 and 737-800 which is the smallest aircraft I lease or buy.

All of the aircraft are the most fuel efficient varients and all have full A/V systems for every seat.
In short I set this airline up to be very profitable.
If it were'nt for some rookie mistakes I made in the first couple months ( I started playing AE 2 days earlier) WestAir would be at #1 right now.

I'm looking for someone to take it over and go for #1.
I won't have the time to do it so I'm giving control to someone who can.

My nearest competitors don't need to apply cause I know what you'll do.......lol.

Lol..........I knew it !

But I think you have it the wrong way around, your planes are all cheaper and smaller.........my planes could haul yours away as scrap.

Besides, my airline is almost 50% bigger than yours.

Hey gevans, you're westair right? So you're part of the oneworld alliance and my alliance partner. I have a suggestion, give it to somebody within our alliance that is not in any way your rival. I think that's the safest thing you can do to ensure that your airline continues on and does not get sold for scrap.

Good idea.......I'll check some of those airlines out, find someone who knows how to run an airline.

Someone who won't run it into the ground, I've put a lot of work and planning into WestAir.

Can't believe I'm still the only large airline buying their own aircraft instead of leasing.......and I'm ordering just as many aircraft as my top competitors are leasing.
I also built a large terminal instead of adding a hub, cost $150 m but it lowered my costs.

I'm still new at this but there is supposed to be an advantage to owning your aircraft vs leasing them......right ?

Soon after I posted this I noticed the #2 airline has just started buying instead of leasing and the #14 airline has bought 1 A320.

Well there is an advantage in terms of your airline value since technically if it is leased you don't own it so the aircraft value will not add up to your airline value. However, personally, in the first 2-3 years of operations, I will keep on leasing then once the first few leased planes start ending their lease terms, I'll buy them one by one. In this way I can lease more planes while buying into my current leased fleet. But that's me I don't know what your own strategies are.

Now, about the WestAir thing. Try to contact those within the top 10-15 range. I think since they are not that established yet, they would be willing to take over much more than the top 10 who for sure would rather stay with their own airlines.

Ok.....I tried one fella to take over my airline and I don't think he really understood what is needed to make an airline a top one in contention for the #1 spot......or at least in the top 5.

So I'm looking again for someone to take over my airline - WestAir.....it's still #3 but won't stay there too much longer if I don't find someone soon that knows how to and wants to run a big airline that makes a lot of money.

And if their really good take it to # 1 which is where I had it a while back.

Mate, if WestAir has all the assets you mention it will be most likely torn apart to make way for another airline with a more rationalized fleet, hub and route map. Just my 2 cents as a fellow alliance member.

If I let a direct competitor who has something to gain by taking over WestAir and then taking it apart ...........take over WestAir then that would be my silly mistake.
But I'm not going to do that.
I'm looking for someone who has little or no hope of getting to the top with the airline they have right now.
And WestAir is the only airline based in Denver which has a volume of 52m.

And I'm not quite sure what you mean by more rationalized, also I don't have hubs........ I use terminals.

Probably the best indicator of how successful an airline is would be how much money it makes and WestAir was the first airline in R6 to buy, not lease it's aircraft and at the same time the first big airline to build a terminal, this was done while I was still leasing all the aircraft models from Boeing and Airbus.
I had too much cash building up and I decided either I start leasing Russian aircraft too or start buying instead of leasing from Boeing and Airbus.

Sorry if I can't help with your airline Gevans. Mine is halfway around the world and I'm in a neck-to-neck battle with some regional competitors. I would rather stay here since I know much more about the "situation" here than there. Sorry

By rationalized I meant using a Hub and Spoke or Point to Point business model and using the least number of aircraft types for it.

BTW, terminals are great to reduce costs however HUBs give you connecting pax with fellow alliance members.

I'm selling all of WestAir's aircraft and liquidating the airline. All of the new aircraft you see in the used market are planes I used to own.
