Hi guys,
i got a question, since this year 2012 the new Berlin Airport BER will open and TXL will shut down, how is this going to be handled in AE? Or will it be ignored?! It's interesting for me since i actually live in Berlin and operate in and out of Berlin in AE.

It's most likely we will close SXF and TXL and open the new airport, that's what I think will happen at least.

Or we could just take Tegels demand and add it to SXF, change the airport name and code and then fantastico

Im not sure how this will work as the game runs through time periods where Brandenburg will not have opened so deleting the other airpoirts may be an issue.

I think I know what is gonna happen,
Brandenburg will be set as the only airport in Berlin, jsut like in Hong Kong, the game has periods where Kai Tak is open but its not in the game.

The current version of AE does not handle airport open/close dates. This will be added in the next version

JFK was IDL, Idlewild Airport... Singapore had changed airports from Kallang to Seletar to Paya Lebar to Changi, plus, there are still questions about changing passenger numbers... It's quite challenging

Passenger numbers are not historical for airports, and there also many airports in game that did not exist at certain times. For example, you can fly out of Dulles, Domodedovo, and Sheremetyevo at the start of 1960 even though the airports were not operating commercial flights yet.
