Hi. With all the chatter going on about leasing companies and everything, I had a thought about something: Charter Flights. What if there was like a bid or something for charter flights in AE 4.0 and airlines could put in bids and the winner could be chosen based on reputation, IFS, IFE, blah, blah, blah,... and the winner could reconfigure the aircraft for their needs and, well you get my drift. What do you guys think? I would bring in additional income and things like that. Feedback is welcome.

Charter flights would be a hard thing to do, they would have to be a specific area of your fleet dedicated to charter flights and the flights would not always be constant, I know there are a few carriers that operate a regular charter carriers that fly 6x weekly to avoid having to pay the regular scheduled airline fee for flying every day on routes. Im not also sure how you could place these aircraft on specific routes unless the game came up with a tnder system where by you bid for chart contracts.

Muneeb, if you want business jets, just convert a 737-700ER or an A319LR.
I wish I was surfing right now.

I question a global bidding system if it follows auction like techniques, but if charter flights are ever considered, maybe a silent bid system? Biz-jets would be fun to have for the heck of it, but not to be followed seriously if chartered flights don't make it in. AM has biz-jets, and routes with them are quite profitable, due to the lack of realism that game has.

Charter flights might be a good way to encourage usage of smaller airfields.

Perhaps a system of randomly generated charter customers, that may have differing:-

- origin and destination - Your airline must at least have a gate at either origin or destination (hence the need to branch out to smaller airfields).
- number of passengers - Mostly small numbers, but occasionally a request for a large aircraft.
- length of charter contract - typically short to medium term (usually the larger the aircraft the shorter the term).
- urgency of charter - Some tenders (typically the longer ones) get advertised a long time (months) in advance. Typically the short tenders are advertised over a wider range (some a long way out, but others within days/weeks of being required).
- Service required - Some bids might want cheapest low frills, others might want best service regardless of price, and others somewhere in between.

The bid is decided based on price, reputation, IFS, etc related to the tender request.

Once the bid is decided, the owner of the airline must assign a suitable plane by the date of the charter. Failure to provide the charter aircraft may result in a breach of contract fine and damaged reputation.

Also request for specific configs (may want certain number of f/c seats or all economy layout etc.)

This is a great idea here.

Also another good one as most charter flights do require a specific configuration for that charter. And I thought this topic was dead. :D

btw, maybe also have it so that instead of forcing to branch out, make an ability to have a 1 slot rent at an airport (with an option for a base which makes you more attractive)
