I've noticed that a particular airline has got nearly double the number of a particular aircraft than any other player.
Even with maxed out deliveries (1 every 3 weeks), the most that could have been delivered to any one airline at this time would be 19. This particular player has over 30.
Either he struck lucky while surfing the used aircraft market, or he created a second airline that also ordered the aircraft. He then sold the aircraft his second airline accumulated to his main airline. Thus making it possible to expand much quicker than any other airline. Is this a potential flaw in the delivery system that you can exploit your second airline to 'feed' your main airline with new aircraft?

He probably bought aircraft from the used market.

check out the average aircraft age, if its higher than the order time period then he bought used
Not necessarily. I have bought several used 767s and 777s that were 0 or 1 years old.

He probably deferred deliveries so that they all occur on the same day. I do this because it makes opening new routes easier, do it all at once rather then a couple new routes every few weeks.

one night i got really lucky there's an influx of boeing aircraft in the used aircraft market, i managed to sweep 10 747-300's, some 757's and 767-200ER! average age is 0-2 years old (i never buy anything older than 3 years)

Probably the used market. If you keep a close eye on it, it isn't hard.

It is not that hard to do. I have the largest Super VC-10 and Boeing 707-320B fleets in R1 because I was able to buy dozens of used aircraft. Half of my fleets of those aircraft consist of planes bought second hand.

I'm the largest operator of several major aircraft types with more than can possibly be delivered to one airline - you just have to check the used market at the right time

S1:
About 35 odd 737s just came into the used market in world S1. About 20 were bought \ leased by MEUS (me), which leaves MEUS with 140 assorted 737s. More than half the total have been bought second-hand. Just need to check the market regularly and the planes are there.
