Although it's good to remember those who lost their lives that day, is it really a good idea to put this on an aircraft?
I do see the irony.

I'm with Steve on this, it's dark humor, adults do that kind of thing. Just because two or three people on a forum think it's wrong doesn't make it wrong. I was going to suggest some pointers for the livery, but seeing as you took it down there's no point... guess I'll make my own to piss some non-american's off.
The livery shouldn't have been removed if it's what you felt from the heart. People can't tell you how to express your feelings and if they try then they are no worse than the people who committed the atrocities of 9/11, they did it to remove an element of freedom from the world, our soldiers fight to preserve that freedom of speech, and yet people persist in trying to remove that because "it's wrong"... shame on you.
I liked TW and it's gone. NW, and it's gone. CO, and it's gone. Pray I don't like you.

your complaining to brando about that livery. why not take it up to the airline that flies aircraft painted in 9/11 liveries (AA)
Seriously guys give him a chance. If he wants to do that then let him. Go join the army if you think its that bad.

Riiight... Are you seriously that naive?
Didn't exaggerate, terrorism doesn't have to be on a massive scale... Naive? please, kid, pay attention at school and read some history books. I'll give you a few examples:-
WW2: Fought to defend the freedom of Belgium (initially) became the defense of our own freedom, for the US it was defending their own freedom against the JE.
US war of Independence... need I say more?
Irish war of Independence... ditto
1st Gulf War... freedom of Kuwait from Iraq
2nd Gulf War... freedom of the western world from the islamic terrorists from Afg. and Irq. Those are the basic reasons we went to war.
Oh yes there was other motives, but talk to some soldiers that were there and you'll hear the words "freedom" "preserve" "protect" "safety" when you ask them why they went... The reason the governments falsified that Irq had WMD was so that they could install the fear that freedom was being taken away... Ergo, "our soldiers fight to preserve that freedom of speech" isn't naive, but you are just an ignorant kid. God help us if you are an adult.

For the record, I personally don't think the thread starter, nor those who made the jokes on this topic, did anything wrong. The livery was a nice memorial, and equally its easiest to deal with certain things by not taking things too seriously. If we can't find light in darkness, we end up in a very negative state.
