Caraïbes French West Airlines / Airbus A321-200

Here is the Airbus A321-200 of the French airline.

Their A321-200 are used on short and medium-haul routes.

Their main destinations are Cayenne , Montreal , Miami , New York , Punta Cana and Santo Domingo.

Occasionally, some A321s are used alongside A320s, depending on the season and destination.

For the record, the F-DWLS began its career with the former Italian national airline (AlItalia) on November 31, 2000.

In 2009, the Italian airline found itself in a very delicate economic situation. Despite the situation, the Italian company managed to keep its head above water, but not without concessions.

As a result, the former Italian flag carrier was forced to part with some of its aircraft.

The French company Caraïbes saw an opportunity to purchase A321-200 aircraft in good condition, with a good average age and an attractive price.

After a brief spell at Airbus for painting, the former I-BISX joined the ranks of the French airline's medium-haul fleet, based at Pointe-à-Pitre airport on March 16, 2001. The flight departed Toulouse for Reykjavik and New York, before arriving in Guadeloupe.

It entered service on March 18, 2001 on flight PTP-FDF-CAY.

In May 2002, just over a year after its entry into service in the Caribbean, the cabin was completely overhauled.

It will be densified with the elimination of the Business class, which will be replaced by an all-Economic cabin equipped with new, lighter and more ergonomic seats. A total of 210 seats are proposed.

This densification of the cabin has been put in place in order to ensure high-demand routes.

To this day, the F-DWLS is still active within the French company.
