Eielson Airways | 2000s | DeHavilland Canada DHC-8-Q200

Since the 1980s, the Dash-8 has been the backbone of Eielson's intra-Alaska fleet. The airline's maintenance division has done an excellent job of maintaining and upgrading the type with modernized interiors and cockpit displays. Most of the oldest Dash-8s in the fleet were sold in the mid-2000s and replaced by new-built examples up until 2008 when production of the -200 and -300 ceased, making Eielson's Dash-8 fleet relatively young compared to that of most operators. While management has considered replacement types, they plan to withhold making any decision for several more years based on the various changes and developments occurring in the regional air transport industry.
