Navigator MD-80

1995 saw the beginnings of the now premium low cost carrier Navigator Airlines, based in Florida initially from Tampa International Airport the airline saw relatively good growth. The carrier started out with a fleet of 3 McDonnell Douglas MD-81s and 82s, 2 of the MD-81s retired from Pacific West Airlines during their restructure after their acquisition by American Overseas and their MD-82 arrived in from Texan Airlines. The airline would grow its MD-80 fleet to a peak of 21 aircraft with the last one retiring in 2012 after being replaced by the A320.
