FA. Airbus A330-300 Rusavia 2020- Current Livery

The Airbus A330 family has been indispensible for the airline. Its long range and large capacity allowed Rusavia to expand its horizons all the way across Eurasia. First joining the fleet in 1994, the airline has since built up a fleet of 22 A330s, consisting of 12 A330-300s and 10 of the smaller A330-200.

This A330-300 was previously registered EI-RON, however in the months following the beginning of sanctions against Russia, as a part of the re-registration program for leased airliners operating in Russia, the aircraft was re-registered RA-71775. All Rusavia aircraft are named after famous Russian figures from throughout history, with the A330 subfleet being named after Russian poets. RA-71775 is named after Mikhail Lermontov. Prior to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, this aircraft primarily flew the route from Moscow Sheremetyevo to Tokyo Narita Airport. With airspace restrictions and the need for re-registered aircraft to stay inside Russia to avoid repossesion, 71775 has instead been moved to the busy air corridor between Sheremetyevo and Vladivostok.

Since today is 32 years since the fall of the Soviet Union, I thought it fitting to post something Russian.
