1991 - Boeing 777-200

Tango Global Airlines was the offshoot of Taiwanese megafirm Tango Global Capital founded in the mid 1980s. Tango Global Capital (TGC) was a firm with a rich history running all the way back to the war that made modern Taiwan what it is today. Commander Hung Tsai's experimentation in frozen mangoes during the war became a profitable enterprise and a profitable enterprise became a banking system. A banking system because a holding company and a holding company expanded the horizontal horizons into transportation and airlines. In the late 20th century, the quadruple T logo is a common sight in finance across Taiwan and an increasingly common sight in Asia and beyond. Tango Global Airlines is an important building block in TGC's global reach. Their longstanding partnership with Boeing was the result of considerable government intervention and that tradition continued with the procurement of 777s to replace aging first generation 747 airframes. These new flagships for the entire TGC conglomerate were introduced proudly sporting the carrier's new for 1991 livery that sought to streamline the carrier's appearance and solidify it as a stalwart player in the Asia-Pacific market.
