Robin R170-10 CityHopper

Robin R170-10 CityHopper

Developed from the Regionaliner, the R170 CityHopper is a short haul aircraft designed to compete with the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 series aircraft. As the aircraft is based on its predecessor, it's development and production were sped up, meaning it was ready to fly only a short while after the Regionaliner was in service. The aircraft features a fuselage stretch of 6.5 metres, with a new larger wing and vertical stabiliser, and an extra set of exit doors just after the wings, as well as what was affectionately referred to as a 'belly bulge' for extra fuel tank storage and structural support. The aircraft rolled out of the factory at Avalon in 2003, and entered service in 2004. The specifications are as follows:

Length: 38.5 metres
Wingspan: 35 metres
Capacity: 190 passengers
Range: 6,000km
Engines: 2X IAE V2500

I assure you all, a clean sheet design is coming soon

Not ideal, the engine exhaust would be blowing over parts of the horizontal stabilizer causing unnecessary thermal stress as well as pitch stability/responsiveness problems depending on the power setting

I realised that elevator placement wouldn't be ideal early on but can't be bothered to make the modifications to fix it
