YZ ARJ21

The ARJ21 is China's first aircraft developed entirely domestically. Yangtze Airlines, being a state-owned airline, was allocated 25 ARJ21 orders in 2010. The airline was counting on deliveries to start in 2015, so the ARJs could replace Yangtze's ERJ145 services out of Guangzhou. However, delivery delays plagued the type, and the first ARJ wasn't delivered until late 2020. By then, the airline had already replaced its ERJ145 fleet with new E175 jets. With the ARJ21 now almost completely unnecessary, and pilots and passengers alike not all too keen on flying the Chinese-built airliner, the airline negotiated to only take delivery of 5 ARJ21s, to be operated out of its Chengdu hub, re-allocate 15 orders to China Capital Airlines, and sell the final 5 jets back to COMAC as test beds. The 5 ARJs were delivered between 2020 and 2021, they feature large ARJ21 logos on the side of the aircraft along with the words "中国自主研发新一代支线客机/China’s Own Next Generation Regional Jet" and were named "Pride of China I-V".
