Inter Caribbean Airways - Carnival Jets

Large Caribbean carrier based in Puerto Rico, the airline for many years brought tourists to the island with its colourful service and onboard party atmosphere.

By the late 60s the airline had become an all jet operator with the DC-10 arriving by early 1972 being christened the 'Carnival Jet' featuring an onboard bar where passengers could enjoy cocktails and live music on some earlier flights.

The 80s bloodbath would see the end of the airline, being a well run and profitable operation while not being large enough to remain independent and after a number of takeover attempts the airline eventually would merge with Miami based Southeastern Airlines in 1985 with the brand disappearing soon after.

Today Southeastern keeps one A320neo in the Inter Caribbean livery as a tribute and a single BAC 1-11 preserved at the Southeastern Flight Museum in its original livery.
