PWA 727 Family Poster

PWA took delivery of its very first 727 in 1964 and its last 727 in 1983. The 727s provided a much needed modernization strategy for the airline replacing near enough all DC-6 and DC-7 Aircraft when introduced. These jetliners would stand the test of time all the way until 2002 when the final 727-200Adv (N729PW (shown above)) was retired after 30 years of service, due to the full takeover of the parent company American Overseas Airways and then replacing them with the Boeing 737NG and 757-200. Over 39 years of total service from the very first delivery of N72100 (top), PWA would operate a total of 94 Boeing 727s majority of which was the larger -200 variant.
