ME 752

ME 752

Founded in 1974, Maine Air Tours started out as an air tour operator based around the coasts of Maine. The airline expanded into commuter services in 1976, capitalizing off of their own ferry flights between Portland and Martha's Vineyard. The airline became the New England regional partner of Valiant in the 1980s, then known as FAST. By the early 2000s, MAT resumed service independently with a fleet of Bombardier CRJs, branded as Maine Airways. The airline offered cheaper fares than mainline carriers and also had more comfortable seating and legroom, and quickly became a cult favorite.
In 2009, Maine started introducing Boeing 757 jets into its fleet, operating 8 of the type to date, all purchased used from other carriers. The 757s features the airline's signature comfortable low density configuration, but allow Maine to operate flights to more popular destinations such as Atlanta, Seattle, and Los Angeles from their growing Boston Logan and Bradley hubs.
