2017 | Peruvian Connections | Airbus A320neo

Peruviana (Compañía Peruana de Aviación Nacional S.A.) became a partner of Colombiana in 1999. The airline, which had originally been formed in the late 1970s, was struggling to remain financially stable and influx of new capital was necessary. Colombiana took a 10% stake in the carrier and began asissting the company to improve its efficiency as well as its safety record.

In 2010, Colombiana raised its stake to 49% (with Peruvian investors holding the remaining shares) and fully incorporated Peruviana as a member of GrupoAviacondor which was part of Colombiana's plan to bring various air carriers in South America under its umbrella while still retaining a significant amount of local control by each airline's management. By 2017, Peruviana had become one of the largest carriers in Peru and was also operating long haul services to North America and Europe (in addition to the connections offered via Colombiana). In that year, as part of GrupoAviacondor's plan for fleet modernization across its various airlines, Peruviana took delivery of its first A320neo which sported the latest version of the airline's livery (based on that of Colombiana).
