In the early 1990s, Bwiema had acquired some used 737-200s to begin operations across the Pacific Ocean. The aircraft were previously used for many years across different carriers and the planes only had a few years left when they reached Bwiema so they eventually had to find a replacement for the aging 737-200s. Unfortunately, one of their 737-200s, C2-RN6, was involved in an overrun in 1993 at Amata Kabua International Airport.
