Blue A220

Blue A220

Blue. is a premium low cost carrier based in Bahrain. The airline, founded in 1998 as Blue Air Bahrain, currently operates a fleet of Airbus A220, A320, and A330 family jets to destinations around the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Asia. The airline's current brand image was revealed in 2015 as part of the airline's brand overhaul, where they repositioned themselves from a no frills low cost carrier to a premium low cost carrier with the introduction of new aircraft, new cabins, and new amenities and services.

The Airbus A220 was introduced to Blue.'s fleet in 2017, and the airline currently operates 15 of the type. It operates to the airline's Middle Eastern and African destinations, as well as some lower demand medium haul European flights. It is the first aircraft introduced with Blue.'s fleet modernization program, replacing older Bombardier CRJ-900 jets the airline operated prior. The airline also ordered Airbus A320neo, A321neo, and A321XLR jets to replace older Airbus A320 and A321 jets.

    you already made that joke

so, why can't I say it again?

why is it named blue, but the livery is almost 100% black?

Thank you for this question, actually, because it gave me a chance to flush out the lore for this brand more. The airline's early liveries (from 1998 to 2015) would be mostly white and blue, thus the name "Blue." But in the rebranding, they decided to become a premium LCC and expand to more markets, this is when they adopted the dark gray livery for its new branding. Changing its name at that point would mean the loss of the good reputation it built up previously as a Middle Eastern-focused LCC, so they decide to keep the name and use sky blue accents to connect to its name.

and as for the trolls, calm down, you ain't that funny

Hot, just like the plane during the Arabic Summer.

This would be a ****ing pain to work on in the middle eastern sun, but it looks very nice regardless. Just make sure your ramp agents are equipped with gloves and you can afford the run the APU alongside the ground AC unit to keep the cabin cool.
