Following the introduction of the Boeing 707 into the Air Caledonia fleet came the delivery of the airlines newest and for its time exceptionally fuel-efficient Boeing 737-200, the type initially launched on trial flights operating domestically within the UK the aircraft would soon expand into Europe and become the backbone of the airlines European network as well as the main type operating the airlines lucrative Glasgow/Edinburgh - London rotations. The 737 would remain prevalent within the airline's fleet for many years and become a quick favorite for Air Caledonia's operations and as time progressed the Boeing 737-200 would be replaced by the Classic series.

Introduced in 1968 the 737-200 would ultimately being to replace the airline's fleet of Bristol Britannia's offering better fuel efficiency, capacity and operate farther and faster than ever before, with the Bristol Britannia finally retiring from service in 1969. As Air Caledonia expanded during the 1970's several Boeing 737-200's would be used to launch Air Caledonia's new charter services from Glasgow and London under the brand Air Caledonia Skytours alongside some of the airlines Boeing 707's.

Oh wow I love this it's amazing and lovely so glad to see it back on the gallery. Colours and font and logo are great I guess my only slight concern is if putting the Scottish flag and not the UK flag on a plane in the 70s would have gone over well. That's like really slight criticism/concern but I adore this great work as usual

I don't think it really would have raised too many eyebrows, especially given that it is on the tail and not next to the registration. If you look at the original Caledonian Airways, you see on their DC's they had the Scottish flag on the nose.
