AeroItalia - 1980s/90s - La Nuova Flotta Azzurra

New decade, new livery, refinement of the previous Azzurra livery and would stay on the fleet until the mid 2010s.

Still running at a loss and kept afloat by the Italian government the airline nonetheless splashed out on new aircraft like the 767-300ER and MD-11 and at the smaller end the Airbus A320 series while the hugely expensive 747s were kept on the busy routes such as Rome to New York JFK.

With the new livery also came new uniforms for the staff, designed at great expense by the fashion house Gucci making the crew some of the most stylish flying.
