For a young Geoffreys Kirkpatrick, flying was a world of infinite possibilities. He would serve in the Great War, returning home alive and with a reinvigorated interest in the aviation world. In the coming years he would take up competitive flying before eventually settling back down in Cleveland to begin his own airline in '22, utilizing what would be one of only a few American-owned Junkers F 13's to fly from Cleveland to Detroit. Geoffreys would expand to fly the route of Detroit-Cleveland-Erie-Buffalo by 1924. With the start of Contract Air Mail services in the late '20s Geoffreys would manage to acquire CAM 6, the route from Cleveland to Detroit. Following a major crash involving him in 1934 he would retire from flying, opting to sell the ownership of his airline to Indianapolis native J.D. Barnham and his own Barnham Air Lines.
