Novostar - Boeing 787-9

Novostar Airlines (星丽航空, XN/XNO) is a Chinese hybrid carrier based out of Shanghai/Pudong International Airport. Founded in 2014 as a startup aiming to target the burgeoning young population in China, the airline was eventually bought by Yangtze Airlines and now operates as a full subsidiary of Yangtze.

B-12MK was delivered to Yangtze Airlines in 2018 and transferred to Novostar Airlines in 2019. The aircraft was chosen to operate for Novostar due to its odd hybrid livery that emerged as a result of a special livery contract that was cancelled last minute. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the aircraft operated mainly as capacity boosters to large East Asian tourist destinations in Japan and Korea, as well as launching new flights to European destinations out of its Shanghai/Pudong base. Currently, this aircraft operates within China on large trunk routes as a result of significantly lower international demand.
