The Jet Era - Douglas DC-9

The Jet Era - Douglas DC-9

In 1976, the company determined that it had grew enough to accommodate new aircraft. It bought 3 Douglas DC-9-30 aircraft that year and in 1981 2 DC-9-10s. These would be operated on routes longer than the Lockheed Electra.

N935F previously flew for Alitalia until it was retired in 1973. It was converted to cargo and delivered to Raines in 1976. It flew with the airline until 2002 and was delivered to USA Jet Airlines, who still flies it today.

N916F flew for Texas International and Finnair before it's tenure at Raines. After flying for the airline until 2005, it flew for Aeronaves TSM, and was written off in a runway overrun in 2014.
