KMT Air acknowledged that the Embraer E120 was simply too big for some airstrips, so in 2013 they took delivery of 3 Cessna Caravans. 2 were passenger aircraft while one was outfitted to carry cargo.
On June 5th, 2018, 5Y-CAC departed Kitale Airport bound for Nairobi. At 17:02 the aircraft went missing on radar screens and the wreckage of the aircraft was found two days later in the Aberdale Ridges. The accident was attributed to lack of situational awareness in inclement weather and controlled flight into terrain.
