Alden Ribbon livery - Alternative Version

So this livery right here delayed me posting the final 2025 Ribbon livery by a whole month.

The reason for that came down less to the colors itself, but more what they represent.

The orange livery that I chose to use in lore represents boldness, innovation, and heritage while a white livery would've represented confidence and familiarity. It doesn't need bright colors; you already know what Alden is. And that's what got me hung up.

Ultimately, despite white being the popular choice, I ended up going with the orange for a few reasons.

1. I felt it paid better homage to Alden's previous liveries and branding.
2. The white felt too plain - reminiscent of UtAir's latest livery.
3. I couldn't fix this issue without ruining another aspect I was trying to achieve with this livery - sterility. Alden is more than just a fictional airline, it is a comprehensive graphic design project. The future livery is more than just a future livery, it's a prediction about where design is heading. Skeuomorphism is making a comeback - albeit in a weird, cartoony-way, hence the gradients imitating shadows in the airline's logo and font. But I also see design becoming cleaner - sleeker - to an extent that feels almost sterile, like a brand new Apple product. Adding anything else to the livery to fill the empty white void would ruin that sterile feeling. The Orange didn't suffer from this issue, the color was enough, and I was able to add my own take to neo-skeuomorphism in the process.
4. Either way, the White livery would have to exist, as Orange isn't exactly ideal for heat dissipation on supersonic aircraft. The White livery, in fact, was originally intended to be exclusive to the Overture, but Adam got me thinking about trying it on the 787 and 737, and hence the month delay while I decided which one I liked better.

Agree, NGL the red was cool but I like this better
This is better than the red

    I like it!

Controversy abounds but that's natural in liveries that we really like

The white is sleek, but damn do I love the full orange.

    me likey

great work as always! loved the write-up too

lovely (i like the orange better)

I liked this livery better than the all orange one 787, it's perfect.

I always found Alden has one of the best liveries around here, one thing I didn't find out is which airport is the main hub of this airline?
