In the mid 2000s, when the Peruvian airline Compañía de Aviación Peruviana was struggling to maintain its operations due to financial difficulties, Colombiana offered to invest in the carrier in return for a small stake. Over the years, the percentage held by Colombiana was increased to 49% and Peruviana became incorporated into the network of Colombiana subsidaries. When Colombiana introduced its new livery in the 2010s, Peruviana (along with the other Colombiana subsidaries) received a new livery to align its image with that of Colombiana.
Currently, the airline utilizes the A319 and A320 as the backbone of its fleet (in-line with the rest of Colombiana's subsidary airlines).
