- Album Himmelbahn
The 767-200 was not a major feature of the Himmelbahn fleet but the airline did a acquire a few of the type through the decade of disko to supplement the aging DC-10s and cover shorter range high density flights. The 762s did allow for the full retirement of the last DC-8s which would be the last type retired by the airline before privatization. This livery, affectionately referred to as the Diskovogel or Discobird, was the last to be designed whilst Himmelbahn was under private ownership. During re-unification, government officials made the decision to privatize the airline mostly for political reasons. The process was relatively painless, but it did end several practices that had previously defined the carrier: most notably, the German flag at the top of the tail and the German coat of arms located on the fuselage.

looking good!
Really suites the 762! Looks good
The idea is that the shift in the stripes will happen on every aircraft to avoid the cockpit windows it's a little experimental but who says the Germans can't have any fun. Thank you!
looking good!
Now this is cool
Thanks y'all
Yo I love this.
Dunno if this would be too dated even for 1981 - But what if you tried putting antiglare in the space between the red stripe and the cockpit windows? Just an idea...
Awesome man!
Nice!

Yo I love this.Thank you. I think antiglare would be a little dated and Himmelbahn was trying to be big modern so probably they’d drop it, it would also be interesting to see if the lowered stripes would act like a sort of antiglare.
