2010s | Andesa | Airbus A319

ANDESA (Aerovías Nacionales de Ecuador S.A.) (IATA: EQ | ICAO: ECQ | CALLSIGN: ANDESA) is a subsidiary of Colombiana headquartered in Quito. Founded in 1965, the airline slowly grew from a regional carrier into one of the main airlines of Ecuador. After the economic downturn of the early 2000s, Andesa was struggling to maintain operations and Colombiana stepped in to save the company by taking a 49% stake (the rest being held by an Ecuadorian investor). The new ownership reinvigorated the airline and focused its network on complementing the more extensive operations of the parent company.

Currently, Andesa operates fleet primarily composed of Airbus A319s alongside a few Boeing 787s for longer routes and some ATR 42 turboprops for regional connections within Ecuador. The carrier uses a slightly modified version of Colombiana's livery and retains a small heritage logo next to the main boarding door.
