SAB Airbus A350-900 2016+

Sab would first order the Airbus A350-900 in 2017 in an attempt to modernize their fleet. The first of these aircraft PR-ALD would be delivered February 24th 2020 only to immediately be stored by the airline after the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic. In the end SAB would only accept five of the fifteen planes they ordered as the majority of their widebody aircraft sat stagnent at the airlines hangers in Rio and Brasilia as sab chose to only operate their a330 and a340 aircraft on select cargo routes. The first time PR-ALD would fly after its delivery was on a ferry flight to New Mexico for storage during the main parts of the Pandemic. Although as 2021 rolled around the airline was finally ready to unveil their new (ish) aircraft. Brining the five they had back to Rio to be put onto mainline operations. As stated in their initial advertisement for the A350 the aircraft was initially placed on Flights to Chicago, Frankfurt and London. Sab would elect to return the last ten Airbus A350's to their lessor.
