Delta 767-400ER Skyteam N844MH

Delta 767-400ER Skyteam N844MH

Type: Boeing 767-432ER
Registration: N844MH
MSN: 29717
Line Number: 871
First Flight: April 3rd, 2002
Delivery Date: December 3rd, 2002 (To Delta)

Bio:
This was the first ever aircraft to be painted in Skyteam colors when it was unveiled on March 31st, 2009. It currently remains painted in these colors despite Delta's recent purging of its numerous Skyteam painted aircraft. Only time will tell if this iconic look will survive.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, N844MH was stored at BHM alongside many other Delta aircraft, including her sister ship N845MH (BCRF livery). In 2021, N844MH was reinstated into service following a month long cabin overhaul in Guangzhou, China.

The 767-400ER is a peculiar aircraft as it has a mix of borrowed and innovating technology. Many aspects of the plane are borrowed from the original 777 (-200, -200ER, -300) such as the windows, cockpit, and landing gear. The type was the first Boeing aircraft to feature raked wingtips which would later be adopted in mass by the later 777 variants (-300ER, -200LR, -200F) and would influence the flowing raked wingtips of modern Boeing aircraft.

This aircraft holds a special place in my heart as it's the first 767-400ER I have flown on, and is largely accountable for the 767 being my favorite aircraft (764 specifically). Fingers crossed that Delta doesn't send the fleet type to the chopping block anytime soon.

    Well done.

color seems a bit off, logo shape and placement also doesn't look right. font for registration and ship numbers are both off, and its missing some finer details. good attempt nonetheless, but needs more time to have better details.

Good eye. I use GIMP so a lot of things I can't do easily (or at all) such as stretching the Skyteam logo in a way that fits a cylinder. I'm sure I could find the font for ship number/reg too, but I've been using Sans Serif because it looks alright to me at such low resolution. I'll stretch it if I must. In regard to colors, I eyeballed the gray because in pictures it really relies on lighting. The blue is exact though, I understand it might look brighter than in real life, but website logos are website logos lol.

There are a number of other things that are inaccurate that I would love to include, such as correct arial/antennae colors, weathering particularities, and any extra Delta specifics.

I'm always looking to improve so thanks for the feedback.

np. what you will find is that sometimes airlines/alliances just don't use the actual website colors. SkyTeam is notorious for their planes being in a different blue than their website colors, and each airline even has a different grey/blue for their SkyTeam jets.

In terms of extra details it's just up to how closely you look at the reference. I'll be uploading my version of a Delta SkyTeam soon which includes a lot more (but I'm sure not all) of the Delta-specific details so watch out for that.
