AusPac

IATA: OZ | ICAO: OZP | CALLSIGN: OZPAC

Australia Pacific Airways (AusPac) is a major Australian carrier which traces its history back to the formation of Queensland Airways in the early 1950s. That carrier merged with Tasman Pacific Air Services (TPAS) and Commonwealth Airlines to form Commonwealth Pacific Airways in the late 1950s and in the 1970s changed its name to Australia Pacific Airways (AusPac).

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the airline focused on solidifying its domestic trunk network and also incorporated various regional carriers into its own AusPac Regional network which later became a wholly owned subsidiary. In the 1990s, when the Australian airline market was deregulated, AusPac rapidly enlarged its international network with particular emphasis on connections to Asia and New Zealand. Finally, in the early 2000s, the carrier positioned itself as Australia's major carrier and began partnering with other major airlines around the world.

Today, AusPac operates a strong domestic network with a fleet of Boeing 737s and regional aircraft (operated by AusPac Regional) alongside some widebody jets for major trunk routes. The international network serves major metropolitan cities in Asia, Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East, and Africa with a fleet of Airbus A330s and other long-range jets.
