Aeroflot did it because it was already their logo. If this is meant to be a babyflot founded after the USSR's collapse, that doesn't make much sense - nobody else used it or even had any reason to do so.
(By the way interesting detail about Aeroflot continuing to use the hammer and sickle logo - right from the start of the new Aeroflot post-1991, they hammer and sickle were deliberately applied as an easily removable decal rather than painted on, so in case a quick partial rebranding is ever needed the symbol can be stripped from all their aircraft overnight. As far as I know they still do that, including on the latest livery on the A350s)
