Boeing 757-200

UN-B7522

As the late 90's began to approach Kazakh Airlines was heavily invested in the idea of moving away from the old soviet era jetliners and move towards newer, modern more economical western built aircraft, with both Airbus and Boeing products considered by the airline the eventual outcome was to purchase newer built Boeing jets from European airlines, and in 1998 the airline took delivery of its first Boeing aircraft the Boeing 757-200 with a further 4 purchased and set to enter the fleet over the following 12 months. The Boeing 757 was set to replace the airlines aging fleet of Tupolev TU-154M aircraft, alongside some of the fleets TU-134's over the course of 12 months taking delivery of its last 757 at the end of 1999 following the retirement of the airlines final TU-154M. Alongside the Boeing 757 Kazakh Airlines was also looking into purchasing other Boeing aircraft to supplement the fleet and replace the airlines other Soviet Jetliners.

With the introduction of the Boeing 757 came the airlines refreshed livery, officially introduced in 1998 the livery would be worn by the airline until 2004 when the company went through a large restructuring. The new livery was introduced as an update to the the soviet style livery worn on the airlines soviet jet fleet. Kazakh Airlines had spent the early 90's building its brand, name and recognition in the global market and at the time of launching the new look they did not want to stray too far away from its former design due to concern the brand may not be recognized during a time of heavy growth, with a redesign of the cheatlines and the introduction of a blue tail Kazakh Airlines kept the companies recognizable turquoise tail tip, along with those updates Kazakh launched a redesign of the companies logo and typeface to represent a more modern look.

All of the Boeing 757's that Kazakh Airlines took delivery of remained in service with the airline until the final type was retired in 2020.
