Adarna Cargo Boeing 747-2B9F

Adarna Cargo Boeing 747-2B9F

The airline has historically carried cargo on behalf of the Philippine Post. The rise of air shipping and private demand prompted the airline to spin-off its cargo service to an entirely pure-cargo carrier. The creation of Adarna Cargo started with placing stickers on the tails of selected passenger aircraft, until the airline approached Boeing to inquire about their 747 Freighter program. A deal was signed, and the first 747-200F was delivered. The airline also approached Manila airport authority to expand the existing cargo terminal, into what is today one of Asia's largest air-cargo terminals. Pricing for services was also very competitive, with the Philippine government actively promoting the country's potential and prime location for cargo activity.
