Air Mandarin Boeing 747-400

Air Mandarin Boeing 747-400

As the 90s loomed, the Air Mandarin board looked to Boeing and Mcdonnell Douglas to modernize their long-haul fleet, replacing the airline's aging 747-200 backbone. After a careful selection process, management decided to go for a mix of the Boeing 747-400 for the airline's longest routes, and the Mcdonnell Douglas MD-11 for comparably shorter ones. The 747-400's arrival marked a new age of jet travel for the people of the ROC, and it remained with the airline for many years, serving well into the late 2010s.
