Gulf CRJ 700

Gulf operates a mid sized regional fleet to serve smaller rural airports in Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia. Often, Gulf is the only airline to operate to these tiny airports. Cities like Tupelo MS, Beauregard LA, and Currituck County NC are an integral part of the gulf network bringing vital air service to these destinations. The regional aircraft are operated by Floridian regional airline CircleJet, who operates both CRJ 700s and Embraer 175s for the airline.

    Cool
Currituck isn't nearly a large enough community or market for air service, even if you count tourism traffic.

There's this wonderful thing in the US called the Essential Air Service Act. it grants government subsidized stimulation for serving rural airports. The difference that Gulf would lose on the route would be picked up on the US DOT tab

I dont think EAS wouldn't apply to an airport like Currituck county, with ORF being about an hour away. The only town that this doesn't apply to, Corolla, wouldn't benefit from a Currituck Regional service, as the town has virtually no connections to the mainland part of Currituck County.

Yeah there's a specific list of airports that are eligible for EAS, so you should check that (cause since a few years back new ones aren't allowed to be added to it). I do love how this looks though, and all the little details are great!
